We take time for granted

What if we happened to know the day we were to die, to know the last few moments we had left on earth, to appreciate what’s left. We’d live differently wouldn’t we, if we lived as if we were to die tomorrow. We’d hold on to our loved ones, redeem ourselves of our sins, check mark what can be check marked on our bucket list, and appreciate things we disregarded, things we took for granted.  Because life is short, investing in today and thinking about future potential is much more productive than longing for a past gone forever.

Life holds one great but quite commonplace mystery. Though shared by each of us and known to all, seldom rates a second thought. That mystery, which most of us take for granted and never think twice about, is time.

Most of us don’t realize the time we have on this earth is limited, yet we take it for granted. We don’t give enough time to ourselves, our friends, our family, and things that matter most. It is important to focus on what prepares us for the future as well, but who knows if there even is a future in store for you. As James Dean states “Dream as if you’ll live forever, live as if you’ll die tomorrow.”

I for one, tend to live my life spontaneously, I do things as they come at me rather than planning everything out. Sure, I may seem disorganized and messy and lack time management skills, but I choose to disregard it, some of it has to do with being lazy and some of it has to do with the fact that I just don’t care enough. I know I should care about that too and I do but not enough. I want to actually live to enjoy life while I am living it, enjoy the little things. Sometimes while I sit in class my mind tends to wander off to the things I could have been doing rather than listening to my professor lecturing. I look back to my high school years, I learned absolutely nothing. I feel like becoming educated academically throughout school and college takes away a huge chunk of time. And when we reflect back on that time we don’t really reflect on what we learned most of it is forgotten, but the moments we had, the experiences that took place those are memories, those can’t be forgotten. I have learned far more from my experiences than anything else.

Considering everything in hand. I questioned “Does one become smarter or more stupid as life passes by?”, there is no definite answer to this question. However, as I came to the conclusion, I depicted that there are four stages. One being the day you are born, when you are completely clueless, two being your childhood years when you are eager to know everything, and then three being the teenage years of when you think you know everything, and then rest of the years where you reflect on what you really did or do know. Growing older provides one with a sense of reflection, to not repeat yesterday’s mistakes, to live from experiences, and to not take time of what’s left to live for granted. The old are the wise, befriend them and enrich your soul young ones.

Live for today, with no regrets, no worries, take some risks, take advantage of every opportunity you have and most importantly don’t take the time you have today for granted 😉

The Waiting Game

A Penny's Worth

I’ve often wondered if I’d want to know how much time I had left here on earth. Given the option, would I choose to find out the exact number of sunrises I’d be able to watch? Would I countdown the days, the hours, the minutes, not wasting a moment of what precious time I had left? When you know your days are numbered, I assume, squandering even seconds is more than unwise.

Isn’t it funny then, that that is exactly what we do. Whether or not we know the exact amount of time we have left, we do know that eventually, it’ll run out. There’s no denying that. Then why do we delude ourselves into thinking that time is an unlimited resource? Why do we convince ourselves that what we didn’t say, what we didn’t do today, we can just as easily do tomorrow?

More often than not, you can…

Simply Complicated

the-most-complicated-task-today-is-finding

As knowledge increases, complications also increase. Life becomes complicated because we try to understand and make sense out of each and everything we see, feel or hear. We over analyze situations trying to find reasoning behind it. Just let it be. You won’t find the reason behind why? yet…Why Do We Still Ask Why?

Not everyone realizes it, but life is actually very simple. We make it complicated. Not intentionally, but it just so happens that way. Emotions, we develop them. Situations, we create them. Relationships, we indulge in them unfairly. Commitments, we make them. We do it all. We are responsible for our actions, and we are the ones to blame for all the complications we create.

Key to living a simple life is by enjoying it.. to be carefree of any judgments, and living life to the fullest.

Simply Indulge and Embrace life’s complications, its the only way you will get ahead.

Toss a coin in the air and suddenly you’ll know what you want

When you need to make a difficult decision between two things, try this, it actually works!

Get off the scale

I don’t even remember the last time I checked my weight; like a couple of numbers would make a difference to me. For those of you that do worry about small things like that need to read this and change your perception, and stop stressing about it. You are beautiful just the way you are.

“Get Off The Scale!

You are beautiful. Your beauty, just like your capacity for life, happiness, and success, is immeasurable. Day after day, countless people across the globe get on a scale in search of validation of beauty and social acceptance.

Get off the scale! I have yet to see a scale that can tell you how enchanting your eyes are. I have yet to see a scale that can show you how wonderful your hair looks when the sun shines its glorious rays on it. I have yet to see a scale that can thank you for your compassion, sense of humor, and contagious smile. Get off the scale because I have yet to see one that can admire you for your perseverance when challenged in life.

It’s true, the scale can only give you a numerical reflection of your relationship with gravity. That’s it. It cannot measure beauty, talent, purpose, life force, possibility, strength, or love. Don’t give the scale more power than it has earned. Take note of the number, then get off the scale and live your life. You are beautiful!”

Start Blogging, Keep Blogging

Need a challenge?  Here’s an idea create a blog, and maintain it!

Anyone can make a blog, making a blog is easy. Maintaining it, coming up with topics to blog about that people can relate to, and keeping your readers intrigued is the hard part. Don’t let these thoughts hold you back, allow yourself to be open and to be able to share your thoughts and ideas with your readers. The more you post up to date, the more it shows how serious your blog actually is. If you fail to post every so often you will loose the attention of your readers, and your blog will lack existence. What was the initial purpose of creating the blog then?

“That moment you feel like giving up on blogging or when you don’t have the “time” anymore, remember your initial purpose of creating your blog.”

My advice to bloggers out there, keep blogging. And for those of you who don’t have a blog yet, I recommend you start blogging 😉
